Hey guys,
I was wondering if the 2000 f250's had a 4 wheel high indicator light? I got this about a month ago and a just got new hubs. I went in the yard and shifted the floor 4x4 into 4-hi but there was no light. When I shifted it into low, the 4-low light was on. Is this normal?
Is there a fuse or something for the lights? When I turn the ignition to the "on" position without starting the truck there are no lights that pop up for 4x4 or even the low range light. When I actually start the truck and put it in low range, the light comes on. I hear the transfer case actually shifting (an XL with manual 4x4 shifter) but the lights don't come on. Is there something actually on the t-case that tells the computer that it's in 4x4?
Pull your instrument cluster and check to see if the bulb is burnt out. Light isnt comin on... so start there and work backwards. I bet the bulb is burnt.
If the bulb is good... then maybe you do have an issue elsewhere... but no light at key on tells me burnt bulb.
Checked 4x4 and everything works. That's what I was really worried about. I'll go through the lights and electronics sometime soon. Thanks for your help!
