The Klean-strip rust convertor is relatively cheap at around $6/bottle and a little goes a long ways so I bought some and painted my rusty radiator support today. I will let you all know how it goes.

There's rust converters and rust encapsulators. The klean strip stuff I believe is a converter and will only work with the spots that are rusted. It will convert the rust to a hard black coating that will accept a paint over the top of it, which is why they say it is a primer. The encapsulators, zero rust, por-15 etc., encapsulate rust making a moisture barrier that will not allow the rust to continue to grow. They all work good, they just all have their uses and you have to read the directions carefully. Especially converters. I believe you have to wire brush the area first, spray on the product, let it sit for a given amount of time, then wipe off the area it was sprayed to neutralize the product that didn't catalyze with the rust. Then it will work great.
