Wink bed liners

just put a herculiner in my f250 worked out really well i also had some left over to start to undercote the truck. i had a rino liner in my last truck i liked it alot it just cost so much to have it put in. so i went with this stuff and saved some bucks. i tryed it for the main reason of rust. the bed was starting to get scrached up so i wanted to coat it. it cost me 75 bucks but i can put more then one coat on. for all you do it your selfers out there this is vary simple and cost vary little to do. just my 2ct

I though of doing the same thing you did to my truck, but I didnt want to put it over the dents in the wheel wells and I REALLY didnt want to beat them out. I have a cap on the truck so I dont have to worry about rust that much. Im glad to hear you like the stuff and I hope the it works out for you.

I am happy with mine. There is a few areas that have shown where I got it on a little thin, though. Need to get another can and put some more on.

I have personally put on 2 bed liners in the same truck as per the directions. I will never do another one ever again.

Colossus,

Could explain what went wrong with the bed liners you put on? I am about to put one in and want to do it right.

Well lets see, first one chipped off after about a year. Second one adhered a lot better but eventually faded and came off with use. The DIY kits are never never as good as spray on's. I also talked to a master mechanic friend about this and he agreed with me as well, the DIY kits aren't that great.
However, I would use them in smaller applications such as floorboards (who really needs carpeting?) and places that aren't always exposed to weather and heavy use.

I've seen guys do the whole underneath of their truck in spray on as well, protects the lower parts of the fenders from rocks and debris.

The really bad part about the DIY kits, is that if you put a load of dirt, sand, or bark in the bed, shoveling the load will tear the liner to pieces.

Any DIY product for a bedliner with the exception of Zolotone should have a hardener or it doesn't belong in your truck bed. If you put a jug of gas in your bed and it leaks out it will melt a single part product such as Herculiner. Also, chalking will occur very fast because of lack of UV protection also because of a lack of hardener. We sell a few different brands of DIY bedliner that alot of our customers use in truckbeds, engine bays, frames, and trunks. It runs about 70 bucks for a kit, comes with hardener, can be rolled brushed or sprayed, and the kit will do a small truck bed. SEM, Dominion Sure Seal, and Morton all make the stuff and it all works great.
