What spray can rust converter do you like? Working on the metal on the doors now and while I had a panel out I was going to spray the inside with some type of rust convert to stop it from continuing to rusting the door from the inside out.
I've used both Eastwood and Por15 on my truck and Por15 seems to have the more durable coating. I'm still building my truck so I've accidently hit, scratched, etc. the coated areas and the Por15 seems to be holding up better.
I use Ospho on everything once cleaned and prepped. I've been using it for years on several projects and am very happy with the results. I first remove as much rust as possible, apply the Ospho a couple times, let it dry overnight, sand lightly with 220 and primer. Any place that will get a filler, I sand it all off to clean bare metal then use the filler. It won't remove rust just neutralizes/converts it. The trick is to mechanically or chemically (phosphoric acid) remove the rust as much as possible first, then use the Ospho.
Works for me.
I can't remove the rust since the inside of the door is such a cramp area. I do have some phosphoric acid at the house. I was hoping to find something in a aerosol can that I could spray to get in to the hard to reach areas and that didn't have to be cleaned off.
Permatex also makes an aerosol acid based converter that works as well as any I have used, and is usually carried at most chain stores.. I'm sure you already are aware that there are converters that are acid based and actually convert the rust, and then there are the products that cover the rust depriving it of oxygen thus stopping it from growing.

Yes sir. I was going to use chemical agent to convert it then paint for added protection.
I use KBS products and I have never been disappointed. Here is a sampler kit that should be plenty to do your doors https://www.kbs-coatings.com/System-Sampler.html Did I mention that the whole kit is only $21.95
