2014's

Has anyone heard when Ford will have the 2014's available for purchase.
I have also heard there may be a change to the body style of the truck. Has anyone also heard this and would there be any pics out there somewhere?
Thanks

Watch pickuptrucks.com.

they do alot of testing and you can see some previews and spy shots.

Only thing recent is the 2013 stuff. No real changes there except for the center stack getting bigger for a larger screen and upped trim levels.

Thanks Senix.
I have about 2 years and 20,000 miles left on an extended warranty and plan to trade before it runs out. I hope by the time the 2014's are built Ford has all the quirks taken care of with the new engine.

I have been looking but I am like you, I am looking the other way. There are some great deals on 12's but I just cannot bite on it. Like the OP I have 15k left on Premium ESP and 18 months so I am just going to wait and see where we are when the time comes.

I think they have to change the body for 2014, I believe that truck has been put on a diet by the EPA. The weight must be reduced. I don't remember by how much but I think this is the start of the size reduction. If it's enough weight in a short enough time these 6.4s may become popular. Gonna be interesting to pull a trailer like mine with a diesel truck that weighs 2500 lbs (LOL). I guess that's the objective. Force us all in to trailers we can tow with a Volt.

The 2014 F150 will be put on a diet using more aluminum parts to reduce weight as part to improve fuel economy.

As for the Super Duty there is nothing beyond the 2013 except I believe there is another emission standard coming for the diesels which we all know where that's going! Which is one of the reasons I traded my 6.0 psd for a '12 6.7 psd which is a pulling machine that makes great fuel economy compared to my 6.0 psd which was a respectable truck, but again there's no comparison with no bed plate oil leaks to boot.

It is a shame what they have done to the diesel engines with all the emission stuff. I was raised on a large farm an we very seldom had any issues with our tractors or trucks with the diesel engines. They just powered on an on.

I'm taking these emissions stuff with a grain of salt.

These newer emissions diesels equiped with DEF allow for less EGR and better tuning to provide improved fuel economy and increased power. Having said that all this additional equipment comes with additional cost $$$ and increase complexity.

The 6.0/6.4 were both plaqued with emissions related problems, but I believe if designed properly, the emissions equiped engines can be made reliable.

I guess the old sayin "Simple is Dependable" doesn't apply to diesels anymore.

Model year '13 trucks will be produced until July 19th of 2013. Orders for '14 models start in March '13. Short run for the 13's. Ford may have something up their sleeves or are just trying to get a early jump on the next wave of emissions requirements coming in 2014.

I'm afraid it's the emission's requirements.

The emissions are litterly crazy! My '12 tailpipe is clean as a whistle and the exhaust litterly doesn't even have an odor.

I believe it is emissions also. So hopefully with the emissions tweak, they will bump the power up to compete with the Cummins 850 ft/lbs of torque.
