Hi Guys:
I started having trouble with my f250 running rough scanned gave code of CPS that didnt work then would start I disconnected ICP got it to start. I replaced ICP took on test drive about 3 miles ran well, next day started and was idling very rough especially when shift into drive. I have a super chip giving me a code of 1316 I dont have scanner to do buzz test, I know it could be uvch loose. However I talked to superchip and they said that my chip is obsolete and I should remove it as it may have gone bad and if so will yield this type of idling. So question do where do I find the superchip to remove from the PCM or where is PCM on 2002 F250 7.3 thanks
i didn't know Super chip sold plug in chips for diesel? i thought they were for the gas trucks only? And my old 1997 F250 HD had a Super chip chip plugged into the pcm and it did the same thing your experiencing, after many trips to the service shop one tech finally just unplugged the chip and the truck ran beautiful again, turns out the chip had a short and was causing all my problems
thanks to all, I feel like an idiot I have a superchip scanner . I have had this truck for 6 years never used it just assumed I had chip I pulled the PCM out no chip set back to factory default with superchip scanner / tuning tool. I still am having misfire at low rpm engine light will come on briefly no codes not sure what is going on new icp could it be air in hpop rails I really dont want to pull vc yet if there are other things I should check any ideas will help thanks
