I have started rewiring/temporarily wiring my 55. The first question I have is did the 55 have front blinkers? If it did I am missing something or don't have dual element bulbs. Second on the front crossover harness does it run on the front of the radiator support, etc or somewhere on the backside by the radiator?
I currently have low beams and park lights on the front as I have it wired. I will work on the rear later this week.
I dont know alot on 55 wiring but here is a link to earls world, he (i beleive George) has schematics that should help you, Ill leave the blinker question to somebody that knows for sure. http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/Re...iring Diagrams
My '55 F500 only has aftermarket turn signals. It seems that it originally came without.
Edit - schematic for lighting on Earl's World shows that rear, parking and "pilot" lamps will all flash. If it came with stock turn signals and is wired right. The schematic indicates that single-filament bulbs were used.
I failed to inform that I have an aftermarket GM type column with turn signal arm and 4 way flasher switch. The front park lights do have dual filaments, so I think if I have all wired correctly from the column, flasher, etc they should eventually work. According to the schematic I have there is no flasher mentioned anywhere, which leads me to believe that there were no factory turn signals.
