Sorting through the wiring on the truck to fix the brake lights and turn signals. brake lights now work, but no turn signals. not even illuminating indicators.
I have a switch on the dash to the right of the column that activates all 4 bulbs and the indicators. this system works as normal 4 ways. (hot all time) Is this something that was installed aftermarket? I cant find anything on it in my service books. Could be that the installed messed up or bypassed the normal turn signals when this was installed.
thoughts and help. I am getting very low voltage to the blue wire going to the turn signal switch. Something is askew there.
The 56s were wired for signal lights but they were not always installed. If you did get the turn signals after you bought your truck, you had to unplug certain wires and re route them into the spares in the wiring harness.
I'm not sure what set up you have and thus I don't know how it's wired - and God know what a previous owner may have put in there.
Here is the wiring and power diagram I made for the 56 including the trun signals when run through the OEM harness after the change over. Lines on the drawing are wire color correct.
You can check it against that, and see if something is missing. Send me a PM if you want it in Power point so you can enlarge it.
thanks
Seems the 4 way was installed by the previous owner. the wiring is not the greatest so I have my work cut out for me. I use hand signals for now.
