The other day I got a new set of tires ordered for the old girl. Our tire guy at work found me some 255/85 r16 trail cutters. Those should ride a lot nicer, I plan on driving it this winter. Also picked up some 16 inch wheels off a '85 f250 from a coworker. Will be sure to post pics when I get everything back together again.
I'm thinking very seriously about restoring back to the original colors, white with a red top.
Someone abused this truck as an offroad/mud truck before I got it. The black you see is a very crude rattle can paint job. The top of the cab is actually still red.
Also considering going with a gunmetal gray.
If you look on pages 4 & 5, there's a picture of this truck in the daylight that shows its condition a little more accurately. And you can see some red on the cab.
I am certain that I don't want it black anymore. Black is such a pain in the sphincter to keep clean and looking good.. Plus with no A/C, it really sucks in the summer time. I am a long ways from painting it anyways, so I have plenty of time to think about it.

Edit: Maybe I'll make it match dad's '59 Apache?
Yes! Now that's sexy too! Maybe a dark blue would be good also. Love that apache did he do that paint job?
Yes ma'am. Dad and I painted that truck. It was originally my great granddad's truck. Dad saved it from the weeds when grandpa was hauling off scrap iron from the farm and restored it to what you see in that picture. It has a Nova front stub, a built 454, turbo 400 trans, narrowed ford 9" with 3.89 gears, lowered... Oh yeah! Colors are very similar to original. What you can't see is all the custom work dad has done to that thing, like the Nova stub, narrowed 9", custom tubs for the super-wide drag radials in the rear, finished oak bed floor with stainless trim, custom 4-link rear suspension.. Makes me excited just talking about it
