I realize that my progress has been very slim lately.. But I did manage to order this, and it showed up today
Above is a quick fuel slayer 750cfm carburetor to feed the 429 thunderjet under the hood of my highboy. This carb comes with vacuum secondaries, an electric choke, and uses Holley jets... All for the price of $300, brand new I am hoping to get it on this weekend, but as always.. depends if I have to work all weekend or not..
Well guys, I finally got a few hours to myself on Saturday after work... I got the new carb swapped on and tuned. She purrrrrrrrs now Also, the highboy is capable of doing a burnout now (even with 37" military hummer tires). The tires look cool and all, but kinda ride like crap.. I am going to try to find a set of BFG all terrains in the 35x12.50r16.5 flavor.. Once I get my foundation fixed on the house I should be able to start working on some projects again.. The dang foundation is going to wipe out my savings account..

Well guys, we went and did it again.. The highboy went under the knife, again This time she is getting upgraded to integral power steering, via a 2wd 1977 f250 steering box. So far I have absolutely nothing but time invested in this conversion. I was able to make my own drag link from scavenged parts from an '85 f250, and the steering shaft we shortened to length.
And some pics for the non-believers..
And here is the sterling 10.25 from said '85 f250.. It may find its way into the highboy if I ever break the dana 60. The main reason for getting it was for the suspension. I am going to use the shackles and springs under my '93 f150 to get it fixed and driveable again.
About damn time you did some work on this.......LOL
I know, I know.... money has been a big issue lately. I am in the process of getting my entire foundation replaced under my house, and had to write the first check...
Well today after work I went to the farm. With the help of my dad and uncle, we got the ol' girl back in one piece. I drove the truck a couple miles. Man, what a difference power steering makes! We aren't done with this little side project yet, however. We have a couple little odds and ends to finish up with the conversion, but the truck is driveable again.
