AC question

My 2002 superduty diesel 4x4 had the ac fan switch (4 position) quit. Only works on high. Is it the switch or is this a sign that the ac is low on charge?

It's most likely the blower motor resistor. It is located on the firewall by the blower motor, it's red and white with a connector going to it. Mine was bad when i got my truck. The new part from ford was like $22.

Does it only blow out the defroster and only on high? If so, it is a vacuum leak.

Those are two separate and different issues with different causes.

See FAQs, link is in my signature.

It was the resistor pack. A real bugger to get out as the main power lead in the plug welded itself to the resistor. $23 for the resistor and $15 for a new plug and all is well. Thanks!!!
