Hi ya'll, I'm new to the forum and glad to be here. I own a 85 6.9L f250 I have a problem with my ac blower that will not come on anymore. Checked heater fuse where there were some signs of heat as in slightly melted fuse, but was not blown. I have power at the blower switch when ac is on, but when I turn the fan on nothing. I have jumped the fan direct with 12v power and it works fine. The ac controller also turns on the compressor normally. I thought it might be the resistor and was wrong on that. I set up the fan, resistor, blower switch on my bench and wired it all up to 12v and works great on all switch settings. Could it be the ac controller, a short circuit at the fuse box? I'll run direct power to the ac controller next and see if it works. Any ideas or thoughts would be big help. Thank you.
Well, got home today couldn't mess with truck will try tomorrow. Also got a cool idea for turbo blower on an old thread. I'll let anyone who cares know about it.
Well now, the motor doesn't go right to ground at the motor, the ac controller enegizes the hot leg of the motor when in the norm/max position, then depending on blower switch either through resistor back through the firewall to a ground in the dash. If blower switch is on high it goes back through firewall direct to the same location. I checked the ground at the location and on the start point of the ground wire w/12v and it works. Thanks again for your help.
