I've got a 06 6.0 with 75k miles on it, bone stock with just a straight pipe, but I've noticed lately that when I cold start it it idles blueish/white smoke but seems to stop after it gets warmed up. It isn't running bad or cutting out or spitting and sputtering its just idling blue/white smoke after I start it up, any thoughts?
I'm out of thoughts on it, maybe clean your EGR' valve. Easy to do two small bolts and it's out.at least this conversation kept bumping you to the top of the list where it'll be seen.
Funny you would ask that. I live in California and had it Smog checked yesterday. So the answer Is no delete. As a matter of fact I have 162,500 miles on original EGR' and Oil Coolers
Ah yes California has all those air pollution regulations don't they? Can you have a straight pipe at all? That's pretty impressive 162k on stock oil coolers and egr, do you do a lot of towing?

No straight pipes allowed, they send you to political reeducation camp if caught with one. Don't tow anymore, had a 32' 5er but Wall Street took that along with part of the Annuity Trust Fund. and my wife's job. I do some heavy hauling, units of plywood, big Glu'-Lam Beams and so forth. The trick to engine longevity is knowing what your engines doing. Most of us use a ScanGauge 2 to monitor the motor. You can pull codes with it and it gives realtime data from most of the engines systems. $170.00 at autozone. Don't leave home without it.
