Recommend checking the coolant level in your degas bottle. A leaking EGR cooler would cause white smoke, smell and a loss of coolant.
Also, if it is very cold outside, just about any vehicle will give lots of white smoke (steam from combustion) when you load the engine heavily. This would be normal.
