I have a 06 f250 6.0, no mods with 40k. The white smoke is heavy when taking off from a light and stinks. Any thoughts? I notice no lack of power and the gauges are in operating range.(oil pressure and Temp) Thanks

 

Recommend checking the coolant level in your degas bottle. A leaking EGR cooler would cause white smoke, smell and a loss of coolant.

Also, if it is very cold outside, just about any vehicle will give lots of white smoke (steam from combustion) when you load the engine heavily. This would be normal.

Thanks, I will check the coolant level. I may set up a date with the dealer but wanted to know somewhat what to expect. Its under warranty so hopefully they will take care of it. I do have a 100 ded. Thanks for the quick response Lou.

 

if it smells it most likely is coolant. EGR leaking, or popped head gaskets.
