side mount 96 alt upgrade compatibility?
96f15.... im leaving for the junkyard in a hour to get a 3G alternator..
i know the subject has been beat to death, but not specifically the side mount model. It appears that my alternator is already a 3G? If so then which cars should i be looking for ? how can i tell it will fit and how many amps ??

Seriously though, there are two side-mount patterns that are slightly different - in fact IIRC, two of the three mounting holes are the same and it's just the third that is a little different.
If you're just want another one that is the same as yours, stick to V8 trucks of the same era.
