alternator bracket placements?

alternator bracket placements?
was wondering how i could change the alternator from being on the bottom to being at the top like a truck motor. unfortunately the 400m bracket i had doesn't fit on the 1970 429 i have but i was wondering there was a cheap way to have a high mount alternator either buying a little conversion kit for under $80 or having another mount bolt right to it..im just trying to save money and get my f250 on the road. thanks for reading..

im not worried about a neat engine bay..and because the original bracket seems like if i was to put a alternator in itd hit the frame right there and on top of that the transmission lines would be right in the way..i just want it nice and high...

The large body alternators mounted in front of the cylinder head. L&L sells the bracket, or look for one in a junkyard. Pretty sure you would need the bigger alternator as well. Not exactly cheap but I have never seen on in a junkyard.

I just did the 130 amp 3g alternator upgrade with the low mount ford bracket and it fits as long as you use the right belt. It clears the trans cooler lines too.

yeah...im not exactly trying to spend top dollar...think i might just drill some holes in the low mount brackets i have at home and see if i can get one to mount on the water pump or something
