*Fuel System Upgrades* When you go beyond Stage 1 injectors, fuel system upgrades are critical. The stock fuel system is not designed to meet the demands for fuel. Fuel pressure can drop and this drop can lead to cracked nozzles if the pressure drops are extreme. You must be able to maintain adequate fuel pressure to avoid this potential problem. One solution is the addition of the AirDog Unit or some other aftermarket pump. We can discuss this further with you if you are interested.

Recommended upgrades when using these injectors:
* 4" turbo back exhaust.
* Cold air intake system.
* EGT gauge with probe mounted pre-turbo.
* High performance fuel delivery system and pressure regulator.
* (edited) program chip.
* Will run fine on the stock high pressure oil pump.
*** Includes 90 day warranty ***

Fuel systems are required to keep warranty. These come with a 6 month limited warranty. This is a set of 8. Due to high volume of 7.3 injector orders these will not ship til about 1week.
I am backing my choices up with my wallet... unless there are any volunteers.
Now I feel like an **** for laughing, so no disrespect meant to Tug and Pete, your info I know is correct from fire fighting school, It just stuck me that way. Sorry guys.

Don't think I don't find this all ridiculous... I just fired off a $4000 Buck$Zooka round and I've spent more time fretting over a $150 tube under my seat than the 40 pounds of hardware under the hood. I'm amazed Joe clicked on my thread to endure yet another round of my red-lettered writhing (writhing with an "h"). I hope he gets a good chuckle and he can regale his friends with another good quip about some panzy-*** on the forum blowing snot bubbles over a fuel pump.
I like it. You all the research. Then when I need a pump I will know what to get. God knows I dont have enough patients or knowlege to research a pump.
Disrespect? What disrespect? I absolutely don't know what you're talking about, Jason. I was only focused (probably too much) on the simple hydraulics relationships between parallel and series configured pumps. The rest of the thread s useless for me at this point (and probably for the very far away future) because I have no intention of chasing the kinds of power which requires this level of analysis. Even if I did face the issue, personally, since I over-engineer everything, I would bump up all my line sizes and choose the most reliable pump I could find and then just move on.
Thats cool Pete, I value the knowledge of you engineer types. I've been driving Ford diesels since 86 when I bought a new 6.9, and most of what I have learned has been from you guys here over the past 2 years.
Jim.
Fuel pump.
My guess is that if you run only diesel, a bosch pump is ok. Bosch pumps go bad (fail) in my use.
I use airtek E2236. Have for years now. It continues to handle the requirement/demand(s) of my thicker vo (fuel). When (or if ) it fails, i have another waiting to replace it (like many here have a spare cps).
i think the KISS method works best in this situation......jmo....
But where's the drama in that? I have been very careful in each step I've taken and so far it has served me very well indeed. I have good power, great reliability, and fantastic fuel economy - plus Stinky is ready for the power boost he's about to get with my stage 2s and the 38R. I may be obsessive... but my wife enjoys riding in the truck, likes to take long trips in it, and has faith in Stinky's reliability. I'm happy, she's happy, and Stinky is happy. G'head... roll your eyes - it's nothing new to me.
AC injectors went in at 189k (because we wanted to beat someone on a dyno...)
100% stock fuel system, maintains 68psi under all...
NO fuel mods at all.
Ah... numbers. I like those... and I like those particular numbers. To be clear: My plan is to find someplace in my truck where one more gauge won't bug me and install a fuel pressure gauge before I go any further on a pump. I've done my due dilligence, I've beat the dead horse, and I've pulled the trigger on the Buck$Zooka. 2000ca250 and I are coordinating a micro GTG (3 trucks) this weekend and the parts go in. There is a mountain pass between us and I'll start pulling some performance numbers on the way home.
One last experiment before the major surgery: I'll record the turbo side of my boost and AE will log the engine side of my boost while climbing the mountain pass. This will give us all some hard numbers on what kind of drop we should expect from everything in between.
I'm not sure I understand the the question. My overall goal is a very reliable truck (and long-lasting) that gets good economy empty, but can be tuned to really pull if I ever stop convulsing on the Buck$Zooka trigger at the truck and turn to aim at the bigger boat. [LINK] The spunk is a great byproduct, but it was never a primary goal.
I have specifics I'm shooting for to attain my goals, is that what you're asking instead?
