Hubs and locking ?
Have 2004 f 250 ext cab 4 w d 5.4 auto transm. How do the auto / lock hubs work ? I even asked ford service guy and dont remember a clear answer. They said under plow etc. put in lock cause it could come out in auto. ? ? ? It is in 4 w drive when in auto and shift on the fly is turned to 4 w low or 4 w high right ! Also anticipate some problems at mechanic today ( pulling wheels ) in front to do ball joints and one hub MAY have some debris in it ( mechanic diagnosed ) last week Anti lock is kicking in he said something may not be reading right ? ? ? If hub has to be replaced whats a good one ? Was on rock auto and parts geek and saw a few but if one is needed not going to be able to wait, location shore line in connecticut ? Is parts master any good ? Rock auto has motorcraft one $ 298 other $351 no shiping prob sensor and no sensor.I can get my bros discount at local ford dealor hes in car buisness usually another 10-20% off. What you think ? Also is locking mechanism at hub a seperate pc ? They seem to be a little hard to turn, I have to get a needle nose opened wide and use it to turn the auto/ lock gismo . Are these expensive ? Dealor only ? THANKS FOR EVERBODYS HELP

You will need the sensor for the ABS and the part you are talking about is
the wheel bearing and hub in one piece. There is a older discussion here
