I have a 2012 Edge Sport with the crappy My Ford Touch system, which has Sirius, HD radio, etc. I did not get the factory NAV when I bought it. Now, I am thinking maybe I want it (factory, not aftermarket) Is this possible ? Does it use the same head unit and this is just a software upgrade ? The dealer wont give me a straight answer.
It uses the factory system with your phone. If your phone will not sync, it won't work. Honestly, buy a Garmin for 200 bucks. It will be easier to use and more reliable. That's what I do.
Im looking at a 2012 EDGE that has the LCD monitor in the dash. It says SIRIUS on the window sticker. If i buy the car an done pay the SIRIUS radio- weather, etc... does the monitor still function as a GPS or is it worthless ?? What can it do without extra monthly payment ?

I had a problem with the GPS because on our 2011, you had to subscribe to a service I believe. I have not used it on the upgraded version. Other than GPS and Sirius, you can control the car setting, like lighting, radio, cd, bluetooth. I like the screen but mine shuts itself of randomly, and is distracting when driving. It's like trying to work an ipad while driving.
