Tdc partially broken down...
So here we are I have replaced the driver's side cylinder head. I have only partially broken it down. Meaning I didn't pull the timing chain cover. I have the new cylinder head set at 90 degrees from the plain of the cylinder head cover plain like it says in the book so, since we had to move the crank to the safe position in order to do this. How do I find top dead cent and time the engine??? By the way it's a 2003 ford Expedition 4.6 liter
Any help will be appreciated
Jim

But I think it will be difficult to get this done right without removing the timing cover. It's not really hard to get out of there especially when compared to what you have already done. I have also always been of the belief that if you go that far into a job you should replace preventitive maintaince things while you are in there. I am speaking of the timing chains, guides, and tensioners here. If you use the link I posted above it is a pretty job. Just a suggestion.
