I'm looking for heads for my engine rebuild and I came across a set of Pro Comp aluminum heads for $700 and I've read that they are junk but if I replaced the hardware how would they stack up against a D0VE or D3VE casting besides the weight advantage, would iron heads be just as good, I'm trying to look for options to expensive aluminum heads and I'm not trying to build a race motor just a solid street performer so should I pass on these Pro Comps and look for something else

Personal opinion is your better off doing some port work on your iron heads and save your money.
maybe a little advantage in the ability to run higher compression with the same octane fuel, and the weight savings otherwise just bragging rights of having alum heads.
