ABS light???

ABS light???
I know I just posted this problem, but now the ABS light is on all the time the truck is running. Where is the ABS under the hood? I need to ck this out soon. The truck doesn't seem to stop any worse than before. Might be the EDGE product made it come on, I don't know. Might change the VSS and see if that does it, because the speedo bounces around still sometimes. Even after I changed the rear end oil.

The RABS (rear ABS) valve is located inside the driver side frame rail under the cab.
A malfunctioning VSS can make that light come on. Try pulling the VSS and cleaning the face of it off. If you haven't done that already, they tend to collect little shavings and sludge and then they don't read right. Check the wiring harness for the VSS out really good too. They tend to rub on the shock absorber and wear through the insulation causing the wires to corrode or short out.
Your brake light (the one that comes on when you use the emergency brake) isn't on is it? If the lights both light is can indicate that your vacuum pump is going out.

Check the in cab fuses, there is one for the ABS. I was using a trailer with faulty wiring, and the ABS light cameon and stayed on. I found a blowen fuse, but I don't remember which one. If you still have the owners manual it is listed in it.

The weird thing is it comes on sometimes only. I will have to replave the VSS and find the ABS under the frame rail and ck for a short. When it is on I do notice the AMP gauge is at slighty below half way. When it isn't on it is slightly above half way, so that leads me to believe there is a short somewhere.
