My trucks front wheels shudder under moderate braking. I jacked her up and moved the wheels side to side and nothing. I moved it from top to bottom and it clunked on both drivers and passenger side. Is that normal? The driver side makes a clicking noise when rotated. The passenger locking hub is broken and pushed in. both hubs are locked and spin the front drive shaft. The drivers side is on auto. Passenger knuckle where hub connects to axle has grease/oil coated on the bottom. Please help!!
Has it been doing that for a long time or just started?
I would first check the rotors for warpage.
The up and down movement tends to tell me that your ball joints are shot.
If you have auto locking hubs on there they're prob shot too, I had a set that would click alot then engage and disengage on theyre own (kinda hard to steer when one side locks)
hope that helps a little

Sounds like you need a complete front axle rebuild or at minimum ball joints and new locking hubs, I went with moog ball joints and warn manual locking hubs when I did mine. Do a search on this forum their are good write ups to do both of them yourself.

Also sounds like you need new front rotors as well.
I would personally def. go with upper and lower Moog ball joints, they have grease fittings and will last twice as long with propper greasing, and get a set of warn hubs, or a cheaper version like superwinch, I had them on my '93 and worked just fine.
With lock in lock out hubs you know when the front end is disengaged , might get better gas milage too.
You need a front brake job, with new rotors (or at least your rotors turned). I don't like turning the rotors. If they warped on you, taking material off them would just make them easier to warp, at least in my opinion.
You also need some front suspension work. No surprises there, these trucks are heavy and hard on suspension components.
