Going down to test drive in a few hours. Was kinda hoping for another PSD...but this price is really good out here in Hawaii. Besides, I just paid $5/gal earlier to fuel the truck. Be nice to pay almost $1 less/gallon.
Poked around while it was locked up. Looks to be in great mechanical condition and only 55,000 miles. They marked it almost $26k on the window sticker, but internet price is $18k.
Now to see if it's actually okay mechanically and how much they'll try to jerk me around with trade on my F-250
V-10 with open diff and 3.73
broke/not working stuff
sunglasses holder broken off, tip of gearshift selector broken off (the cap piece), leather needs conditioning but is in excellent shape otherwise. Still has factory spare and carpet cover. Only thing exterior wrong is a piece of cladding that needs some new double sided tape
Manager who processes trades isn't there. They want me to drive 20 miles to their Magnet store if I want to do the deal today. I'll wait until Monday, busy weekend scheduled.
Left them the list of issues I found and asked for their bottom price. We'll discuss trade #'s once I get that.
I really want this rig. Very nice used vehicle compared to what you normally find used out here. People just don't take care of stuff out here.

wish that were an option. It's been listed for 2-3 weeks. Only people trying to trade vehicles are calling. 1 guy even offered me to trade for a Lunch Wagon truck. Price is very fair IMO, but I guess people want something for nothing....and I'm not desperate to give her away
"Out here" Brah, seriously? It's blanket statements like caused us locals to create the word "haole". Which I can see you are. Listen, no offense but, honestly, people take care of stuff and don't care of stuff regardless of geographical region.
The hubs are a common issue ALL OVER THE PLACE and probably just need serviced. Not a lot of need for 4x4 on O'ahu.
Leafs springs on an 05 probably don't need replaced as they ALL, REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU LIVE, ride an inch or so above the bump stop.
Which windows? The vent windows? (third row)
Ball joint...well...you know the roads on O'ahu.
but I guess people want something for nothing....and I'm not desperate to give her away
Yeah...man it can be tough to sell private party today without giving it away. Sucks...
Sorry Ken, didn't mean that to be a blanket local statement. It came out wrong and I apologize.
I'm just frustrated after looking at vehicles for months and getting quoted "Like New" or "Perfect". In actuality it's mostly crap that is worn and ready to be junked.
My truck isn't perfect, but I feel I can honestly say it's a 9/10 and most would agree with me. You won't find me saying a rusted out hulk as cherry or perfect when you can see through the floorboard (which btw I've had happen to me twice this year)
My F-250 is a diesel. Ideally would like a PSD X to replace. But market out here isn't exactly flush with them. And you can't beat a price tag of $5-6,000 less for a V-10
thats a sweet truck, even with needing a few maint items. the front hubs are a very common problem. get out and lock them boom it works! i wish i had 55k on mine!
i've been going to swap..but my OEMs keep working perfectly after 120k miles and 10 years...even the vacuum lines/auto mode! who woulda thought?! maybe because its used daily 6 months out of the year?
i still think its a great truck though, tires, balljoints are something you look at with any used car/truck. the other stuff is easily fixed.
