Nothing on the list of issues bothers me. Was expecting hub and ballpoint and the leaf issue. Would been surprised if they hadn't been present

Just using them as negotiating points.

Yeah, that does look pretty good. I am a little partial to the color though...

The seats do look pretty rough for the mileage, but the leather looks good enough that a nice scrub brush and some Scrubbing Bubbles should clean them up nicely! Put some conditioner on it after that and they should be like new again.

With the vent window motors, you could always tap on them with a hammer/some blunt object. It's a little tough by the spare tire, but you can still get to it without removing. Give them a couple taps and then see if they work. Might be they just weren't used much. Unfortunately, it may take taps on the motors to get them in too. The Ex I just sold had one like that.

Nada Perfect Trade is $25k
KBB Perfect Trade is $25k

So around there somewhere for trade value of truck. It needs a wash and dusting interior. No prep to resell needed.

They want $18k internet price on the X. I'll be looking to get it out the door for $16-17k due to the "issues" I've identified.

I think the fuse is blown for those windows. They didn't make any noises at all when we were messing with them.

I'll try the knocking trick Monday and check fuses.

That rig looks real nice. And you cant beat 55k on the ticker. Awesome. Hope the dealer treats you right and all works out. The issues are minor and you will always fine SOMEthing wrong with a vehicle.

Best of luck!

Isn't the biggest island in Hawaii only like 50 miles across?

I'll let Ken get that one. I know I can drive 3/4 the perimeter of Oahu in less 1/4 tank. Road used to go 100% around, but a cliff fell/surf eroded about 40 ft so you cannot drive the whole thing anymore. I tried though

The Big Island of Hawaii (my home even though I live on Maui now) is 95 miles by 80 miles. It is about the same land mass as the State of Connecticut. Maui is 48 miles by 26 miles.

Even on Maui it can still take me 3 freaking hours (!) to drive to the other side of the island. (Hana, HI) When I lived on the BI, it was an hour + both ways just to get to Wal-Mart and Costco and 5+ hours to circle the island. No superhighways here. I regularly drove more than 40K miles a year there!

Putting the size aside of any island...I've always argued that the average person living on the Mainland doesn't regularly drive more than an hour or so from their house. Folks tend to stay within a 40 mile radius of their home unless on vacation or whatnot. Never understood the "it's just an island, you can't drive much" thinking. Most folks live on their "own little island" but without the beautiful ocean views.

Kaho'olawe and Molokini island as seen from Cove Beach, Kihei, Maui, HI...a block from my house.

Doh Ken, you're making me miss the good old days when I spent weeks at a time at the Kihei Sands...

When I was at Oahu a local told me people get Island fever (claustrophobia) that live there but that didn't make any sense to me. (Guess they would hate being in jail).

well...ain't gonna happen!

They won't give me a price for the Excursion. I mean, they litterally refused to tell me the price of the vehicle...WTF?
Kept saying they needed my personal and financial info and the 14 day truck payoff. Then they'd do a Trade evaluation of the truck....as if I'd fall for that

Then they got out the notepad with 4 squares drawn and told me they just had to have all that info before they could talk $$$. I asked kindly 1 final time for the Excursion price....blah blah blah.
Got up in middle of the guys speech and walked out. At my truck I told him thanks for wasting my time and drove off. 11 more days above water before spending 7+ months below water. Gonna spend my time with the family. Salesman jack***'s can waste someone elses time.

some day it'll happen

When I was stationed in Silverdale Washington (Bangor Subase), we regularly drove to Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho...etc. Each weekend would hop in the truck and go cruise. Twice a year we'd drive across the country on a road trip of 3-4,000 miles each way.

I've been stuck here since 2007. Can't get off the island to save my life. I've currently submitted paperwork that states I will get out of the Navy at 16yrs if they don't transfer me in Nov 2014 like I'm supposed to. I've exhausted every avenue available to leave the rock. I got a $15,000 pay raise to come here, but have a lower standard of living. I get that I'm on a freaking island...but sheesh.
To be fair, it isn't Hawaii alone. It's also the operations tempo. Submarine fleet in Hawaii is completely Fast Attack Subs. Last 2 yrs running I've been deployed/underway 250+ days a year, with additional time gone doing local ops. Current schedules suggest at least same amount, if not more time at sea for next 5 yrs.

I miss the old days on a Ballistic Missle Submarine. About the same time at sea, but much better quality of life.
Only time I've been home to see family since 2006 and It cost me OVER $4,000 in air tickets alone in Dec 2010 to fly home. Plus $500/week car rental and almost another $1k for hotel. Don't know about you, but spending $6,000 is outrageous. So yeah, I have Island Fever. Probably wouldn't be that bad on Hawaii or Maui. I could at least get out and do some driving. But Oahu is tiny and overpopulated. Speed limit is 35 mph for 90% of roads

some people love the place. some are ambivalent. some people thought it was cool at first but the smallness starts wearing (me) after a few years. now if only they'd build a bridge to Kalifornai. Would be perfect place to live IMO.

putting the capper on my pity bottle now. everyone have a good night. I'll dip my toes into the Excursion waters next year

thats too bad, i'm sorry they wasted your time. i've never heard of someone not tell you the price..thats BS. they need to come at you as if you have the cash up front...atleast thats how i've always been treated then again i did have the cash upfront(but they didnt know either way)

spend some time with the family and forget the truck!

Wow, that is total and utter bull****.

Save your time and energy for some place that deserves it. What complete ******. You are better off walking away for sure.

We will all be here waiting for you when the time is right!
