Somewhere in the 7-9 range city and 11-14 range highway. Depends on engine condition, rear end ratio, 4x2 vs. 4x4, and transmission, of course. Driving style will also have a profound effect.
I had one when it was new ,79 / 150 super cab, back when you could get good fuel, which is hard to find now. It did for a couple of years get,13.5 mpg , but as it got older and fuel got worse ,it was down to about 9 mpg . I'v had others since then and they were bad mpg . I had a 460 that was as good if not better on gas as the 400 was after they got to be old trucks.
Boy you're optimistic! I would be 1 happy camper if I got 10 out of my 460 BUT in fairness to the 460 I love stepping into it every time I get in the truck. Again it is smiles per gallon & I get plenty. Nothing like getting sideways for no reason whatsoever than putting my foot into it.

Mine is backed by a NP435 4-speed, not the c6. Truck is geared at 4.10's, so I think with 35" tires I should be able to get 10 out of it. As long as I drive reasonably, that is... Like you said, it sure is fun to get sideways for no reason
I get 15 or more from my 351m(truck specs in my sig) . I know theres a shorter stroke so its not exactly the same but i don't suppose it should be too far off

That is also a 2wd with a t18 and 3.73 rear. Quite a big difference.

Thats as good as I got with a 2008 4x4 silverado supplied by an employer and a 2006 F-150 I had, I would be very pleased if I were you . My '76 4x4 w/360 gets 12-12.5 mpg on the hwy, guess I shouldnt be too unhapy with that
