My 95 only gets around 15 on the highway, 10 in town. It has a 300 six, 5 speed manual, 3.55 gearing, 4 wheel drive, 4 inch suspension lift, and 33" tires. Maybe those last couple items, along with 3.55 gearing is why my mpg is so terrible
Brand new fresh rebuild 400 with a Holley projection for better mileage (Ya right 1200.00 mistake) Got 7mpg with a good tune,I could dial it back on the controller got it to 8mpg running lean, So lean the plugs look like new after 3000miles! Was not a happy camper only drove it on the hwy once with that set up 100 miles.
Went diesel and never looked back! 14.5 city 21 highway!
Lol, all with no hydrogen generator too! Seriously, I dont know where they tested to get this kind of economy, my guess would be coming down a 20 mile grade in neutral with the engine idling and a tail wind. No 300 I-6 powered pickup ever got 30 mpg in the real world.
i had a'77 f350 drw cab/chassis 400 4spd 3:73's got 12mpg...I miss that truck, got totaled with me standing in front of it....
my '79 f350 supercab 4x4 with the 400 4spd 4:10's on 38.5'' tires gets between 10-11mpg. the truck has just turned over 45k actual miles, only goodies are a 600cfm edelbrock on a performer intake with full MSD ignition and 3'' single flowmaster exhaust.

You spent more in fuel than you did on the truck. That was an expensive trip!
