1993 non turbo idi

question about the dual fuel tanks on my idi.

Are the front and back tanks the same or is 1 smaller then the other. because both of em leak, where is yet to be determined and i have a replacement fuel tank but i cannot tell if its the from or back?

Also the 4x4 shift lever is busted underneath the cab and i would like instructions on how to remove and replace it. thank you

There are a couple different sized fuel tanks, but they are TYPICALLY 19 gallons each. The sending units are PRONE to go bad and read inaccurately.

As for the 4wd shifter

The broken part is most likely

I had to replace it in my 93 and best price I got was from RockAuto
its list there as Transfer case Control Lever 103.79 is current for a dorman part#600602

Autozone was crazy at 272.00 and Summit racing is 147.00

if you have a replacement fuel tank, you'll know where it goes very easily because the front (also refereed to as "mid ship") is long and skinny so to speak, compared to the rear which is wider and shaped much more like a square.
a quick peek below, and you'll soon realize which tank your replacement will be going.
