Hello All, As you can see from my signature I have new air bags and bilstein shocks. After I installed said items I am very happy with the results, however I still get this nagging feeling I should have done something with the leaf springs.
You guys know how the front springs on these older trucks sag way down to where there is no arc anymore. I worry because they are that way and it might cause pre-mature failure of the bags and shocks.
Should I go back and rework the front end springs...By that I mean should I replace the springs or install helper springs or? Looking for advise as to the best option...
The Ford front leaf springs do not have an arch like rear springs.Even fresh from the factory they look like they need replacing.I think an add-a-leaf will only make the ride sitffer.I have a '88 f250 4x4 with a swapped 460(302 efi original) and I'm reluctant to install my add-a-leafs for that very reason. My front doesn't seem to have dropped with the added weight. It has the same rake with the 460 as it did with the efi 302.Chevy trucks of the same era have the arch to the front springs but I don't recall ever seeing a Ford truck with the arch in front.

Ok...thanks...come to think of it, iv'e never seen seen an arch either...I have heard of guys taking em off and having them "re-arched" on a press, but always ended up loosing the arch back to what is was beforehand...
Just wanted to make sure all parts...air bags, shocks, and springs are playing nice with each other.
