the front of my truck is starting to sag a little the back is fine and sits right but the front looks like it has dropped down, could this be bad shocks or springs? and if its just the shocks what kind fit and what will interchange?
Shocks don't hold the weight of the truck, they only dampen the movement of the springs. If you have sag it will be caused by tired springs. You can either replace them or sometimes have them redone by a spring shop. I'd opt for new springs personally.
I had mine redone once, and it worked fine for a while, but it didn't take long for the springs to begin sagging again. New springs is best here, and these twin I beam trucks depend on correct ride height for proper front end alignment (in particular camber).
the hd springs that should fit in your truck are part # 43-498 which come with very little arc as do most front springs, the quick check is looking at the bump stop and see if it is pounded out, and if so get new, like most do, rearcing tapered leaves does not work well and you will have a very hard time getting any alignment again!!!!
