Remove the second Tank and fuel pump
I am getting a new box for my truck and it only has a single fuel inlet. The box I have now has dual fuel inlets, but since the new one has only one I want to remove the second tank. I have been told that If the Computer in the truck dosent see the fuel pump, it will not even turn over. Is this true? or do I just have to make sure the tank switch is on the first tank to make the connection?

The computer doesn't monitor the fuel pump - just the FP relay. If you keep the switch set to the remaining tank, you'll have no problem. In fact, you might cross each pair of wires so BOTH switch positions select the remaining tank.

If the fuel door area of your old box is in decent shape, why not just cut it out and weld or rivet it into the new one? That way, you won't loose the range of the dual tanks.

I thought of that, but I rarely use both tanks. I am going to remove the front tank. This way I will be able to run my dual exhaust straight down each side instead of wraping it around to the one side and then back out to the other side.
