Just have to say this is a great site to be on. Found a lot of information about my truck on here, and got a lot of trouble shooting for little problems I had when I bought it.
But then yesterday it goes up even more, thanks to a couple of guys on here locally I finally got my truck hooked up to a AE just to see if anything was off with it. Not knowing Ford Diesels to well I could of thought something was normal when it was actually a problem. So they hooked it up, and there were no codes expect for a couple crap ones like windshield wiper something. So nothing to worry about. He also re-calibrated my speedometer to match the bigger tires, and now im withing 1-2 mph of what it says. As for the truck since I didnt know what to look for as far as upgrades, it comes out to basically stock after they had a look at it. Only things that were visable were the K&N Air Intake, and WARN hubs. There are a few maitenance issues I need to do just to be more safe than sorry, but for the price I paid for the truck Im ok with it.
So thank guys, you got a great site here.
And one question I didnt ask when I was with them. What are the benefits of WARN hubs? Why are they an upgrade?
Yes this site is a blessing, lots of repairs I would never have attempted until I got help from here, just one reason I became a supporter.
Later, Bill
You can't find a better group of knowledgeable people. Without this site my signature line would be empty, and my truck would be boring, and probably broke....

Yup! Thanks to all the input here, I have a stuffed signature line with an exciting truck... but I'm broke.
I agree. This has to be one of the biggest sites as far as Ford forums go; lots of members. Everytime I log in there are many topics to browse with new comments. A similar site I am part of doesn't seem to be catching on; message traffic is slow and many of the posts are just chit chat. I also enjoy how interactive this site is with the picture battles, garage, etc. I find myself on here more than the other forums I am part of. I just need to get more involved with posts instead of just browsing.
Tug, the money we spent on mods and preventative maintenance would have went to the stealership or to a dishonest mechanic who took advantage of our lack of knowledge.
The way I see it, we are still far ahead of the eight ball

Frank not only is everyone so knowledgeable but they are nice to share their knowledge with others. I have worked in shops where my co workers would say "That is why I make the money I make and you don't make the money I do." In others they would NOT share their knowledge with others.
This a special place with some of best people around. I am glad and proud to call you guys friends & brothers.

I am so waaay in this camp. I was poking fun at the lighter side of what happens when one acquires PMS, but in all seriousness: My truck had many issues. Some were obvious and I had no clue how to address them inexpensively until the brotherhood helped me out. Other issues were a little more subtle, but could lead to expensive repairs. Again the brotherhood made me aware of these issues and I addressed them with far less expense and hassle than the subsequent repairs would have been. I then went all-out and bought the software recommended by the brotherhood (AE) and went deep into the truck to ferret out those last hidden issues that robbed me of fuel economy and power. The fuel savings alone has already paid for the software in the first year... and the peace of mind doesn't even have a place to hang a price tag on.
Have I spent a lot money on my truck? Yes, but much of it was optional... or at least not as urgent as a break-down. What did I get out of it? A truck that I'd put up against anything new on the road for durability, reliability, utility, and economy. Not bad for something I've owned for just under two years... the operative word here is own. It's mine, not the bank's. Zero interest. Money that would have gone to payments are going into the truck as I can afford it... not on an unyielding schedule. B of A, Chase, Citi, and all those other fat cats just have to suck coal when it comes time to get my contribution to their bonuses. The brotherhood enabled me to do this.

riverrat41 (Chris) was the one who invited me. The other I dont know his screen name, or if hes even a part of the boards. But between the knowledge the two showed, and the IMO very modded 02-04 in the driveway, I wont hesitate to tear into my motor down here if needed.
It's not called "The Brotherhood" for nothing!!! What I appreciate is that it is not a site where every other person is trying to have the biggest, fastest, highest horsepower truck...and brag about what their truck has, and belittle others for not having done the same. There are some forums like that, and I guess they have their purpose in the world for that side of the hobby. For me, I just need down-to-earth friendly help on maintenance, repair, etc. of my trucks...and that's what FTE is mostly about. Even the hot-rodders here are humble and helpful. I love it.
