I'm in the process of rebuilding my 67. After tearing the truck down completely, of course the tops of the front wheels veer outwards greatly. This I think is normal. I figured that after replacing the engine (a 351C which is 100 lbs lighter than the 352) the wheels would be pretty close to normal looking. But they still tilt out alot.
So, will the weight of the body bring them back to straight up and down? Have others who have done a frame off experienced the same thing?
Thanks!
I agree. I don't think you can judge it with that much weight missing. My tires are very tilted without the body, engine and tranny at the moment. I think it will sit back down. Are those original springs. If so, the weight savings may work out appropriate for the old springs.
Thanks guys!
That's what I was hoping. I can't see how I could possibly have made a mistake with the front end as it's pretty simple. Still, those tires raking out like that look kinda freaky.
Yes, I'm using the original springs. hopefully your right and any spring aging might work to my advantage.
Thanks!
I'm about to do the opposite--got a 460 with iron heads ready to put in where a 351 came out. Will my 67 F100 need booster springs, etc.? Has anyone put airbags in one? Thank you for your help.
