Well I just hit 14,500 miles this thursday when my message center tells me its time to change the oil soon. Local dealer changed the first 2 @ 5k and 10k miles. Never got the message to tell me to change it, just my personal preference. I was under the impression that the display message would activate closer to 7500 miles.
Anyone know if the PCM learns your preferences? Seems as tho its learning mine...LOL
I'm not sold on this 1/4 turn oil plug. I had to take it on/off 4x's to make sure i wasnt screwing it up. Sure doesn't seem like it snaps on very firmly. All we have is a plastic piece a crap holding our lively hood together....Sheeeze
BTW, I need to give a shout out to Epic for the fuel filter change video. Made my life a lot easier today!

I don't think your truck will change it's OCI based on what intervals your changing your oil.
Most likely your local dealer didn't reset the OLM at your 10k mile oil change.
Also I haven't read any issues with the plastic oil plug to date, but it would probably be a good idea to change out the o-ring at least once a year.
