6.0 heads interchange
hello all.
im back to rebuilding my 06 f450 and trying to locate some heads
cuz then shop said mine are cracked.
i already bought a set of oem HGs with arp's and when i compare them to
my 04 HGs, theyre definitely different.
im having trouble trying to find late model 6.0 heads and
am wondering if i can use, say, 04 heads with my bigger dowel
HGs? i know theres a taper dowel out there somewhere, but it just
seems that the gasket seals are gonna be mis-aligned or something...
and if thay are interchangeable, then are all heads and HGs also?
just need the right dowel?

Have you checked tousley ford parts? they have pretty good prices. I believe that the larger dowels started with engine builds of somewhere in january of 06, so if your block has the larger dowels the earlier heads will not work as they have smaller dowel ports.

i hope everything else bolts up tho...
i should be able to use my old rocker box
if it fits the old heads!

The step dowel will work if your block has the 18mm dowels and you are using heads with the 20mm dowel ports. If your block has the 20mm dowels, heads with the 18mm dowel ports wont work.
