360 oil burning question?

360 oil burning question?
Ive been beating the tar and sludge outta my 360 2v and for awhile it started coughing out a cloud of smoke on start-up. Lately it just stopped burning oil on start-up...any reason for this??

clutch smoke is a different issue, I was kinda curious becuase it could cough out a pretty decent cloud on start-up and alluva sudden it stopped. Good thing I guess

My 360 (or what im contemplating what really IS my 360) does the exact same as you describe Rat .
One morning i will go out and fire her up and it wont smoke at all. And the next morning or afternoon it smokes.
I know i need new rings and gaskets and what not though.
