carb adjustment help
I have a new to me 83 f150 with a 302. It has the factory carburetor on it. The choke seems to work correctly but it doesn't idle high enough when you first start the engine and wants to stall when its put in gear. How do I adjust the idle when cold? It idles fine when warm.

The cam for the fast idle is on the passenger side of the carb. I know the aftermarket Holleys have a adjustable screw that rides on the cam, but I am not sure the factory has the screw. If it doesn't, your only option is to make the choke close a little more, by turning the large black plastic housing on the pass side of the carb in the "richer" direction. This will bring the screw up to a higher bump on the cam.
