yep, will keep you guys posted, trying for the love of me to get a hold of this mechanic, hopefully i have some luck tomorrow, if not it has to sit another week
No "need" to pull the motor at this point. If you want to, fine, but it is a bit premature.
Haha let me correct that, im not pulling anything as i start cross training for a new MOS this week and have zero time available nor the space/tools to do the job on base up here, so im looking my *** off for someone i can trust to not "rob" me.
Also to note, i really do appreciate any and all advice and input you guys put in, places like this are why i still have a PSD (after a horrible 6.0 experience).
hmmmmmm man i dont know what to do, i absolutely dont have the ability to do this myself until at the earliest october, and even then i have to find away to get it from southern md to ohio to my shop on the farm.
actually i have a friend whose a cummins mech who has a shop about 2 and half hours away that might be able to haul to his house for a small fee/ favor if i can get a bit of leave in october i might do it myself, ill give him a call tomorrow i guess see what he thinks.

I'd do it just so it is easier to work on. He mentioned leaking uppies which will be a little easier to get to with the motor out, O-rings, turbo, lifting a 100 pound head off the motor, ALL easier with the motor out of the truck.
I'd hate to do all the "pulling the head in the truck" work and then still have to pull the motor.
I don't know about you but I dislike being bent over trying to work in a superduty/excursion engine bay.
well just to keep you all updated its gonna be a week or two till we get this thing tore down, but i did get a hold of a very reputable guy locally and he wants to tear into it, hes just really busy, but after talking to him i decided hes worth my $$, and being in school i wont need it for a few weeks anyways, once i get it to him ill keep you guys posted.
