is this a ball joint?
i realized i've never really looked at my front suspension until i did my brakes the other day and i think my front suspension is a ball joint. am i totally wrong?

I would rather call it a ball connection...looks nothing like a joint...never figured who named em...maybe a rock-in-roller or a zig zag fan...

thats what i thought. just wanted to make sure i new to fords and everything i've seen says 80-82 f100's had kingpins but mine was built 09/81. so since i have the ball joint suspension does that mean that i could use the dream beams? even though they say for 83+ trucks? or are the 83+ ball joint suspensions different?

You're probably reading about the 4x2 twin I-beam front end. As far as I know, they never did make a "kingpin TTB" (hence my last comment).
