help asap please

good day could someone refresh my memmery please? when looking at the distributer on my 79 460 witch way do i turn it to back off the timing? i am on holidays and at sea level and the timing is to far advanced and pinging on the hills under load thank you waiting.........

Distributor rotates CCW so to back off on the timing you turn the dist. counter clockwise
