I HAVE A HUGE F-IN PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I JACKED IT UP, TOOK TIRES OFF, SET JACKSTANDS RIGHT BEHIND RADIUS ARMS AS I WAS ADVISED TO DO, AND NOW MY TRUCK IS TEETER TOTTERING ON THE JACKSTANDS!!! THE REAR TIRES ARE OFF THE GROUND ABOUT A FOOT!!!!!!
WTF DO I DO??? I DON'T WANT MY TRUCK TO FALL!!!
<!-- / message -->
Well, I hope you're kidding, but if not, this is what I'd do.
1-DO NOT GET UNDER IT!
2-If you are on level ground, which I assume you are otherwise the truck would have fallen off the stands by now, have someone push straight down on the rear bumper while you roll a floor jack under the front axle. Jack it up till you can position the jackstands under the front axle.
throw some weight in the back of it and get something like a steel car rim under the frame repeat do not get under it
Could probably open the tailgate and set a concrete block or 2 under it. It must be pretty well balanced if you were able to get the tires off and the jack out from under it.
Ok, I put my jack under the radius arm, jacked it up, and got the rear tires on the ground. Imma call one of my buddys and see if I can borrow his floor jack and jack both sides up at once and move the jackstands foward. I guess the 460 is heavy enough to lift the whole back of the truck off the ground. Thanks for the help guys!
I know the stuation sounds stupid, I just can't think when I'm stressed like that.
Yeah! 460s are def. Heavy since my 460 truck looks like low rider next to my FE truck lol not to mention our trucks are pretty front heavy to begin with , without a bed mine weighs 4000 lbs and two guys can pick the rear off the ground
