AE and an Excursion..

Hey guys,my wife and I were test driving a 2000 Excursion with the 7.3. I was trying to do some checking with my AE and the option for a diesel excursion wouldn't come up,only gas. Below it listed an option for Powerstroke 7.3,but when I connected on that option it would only give me a "generic powertrain"option,but the "enhanced powertrain" would not come up...anyone have any thoughts on why...thanks..Phil

Should work Phil. Thats how I connect to mine. 2000 Powerstroke 7.3. Maybe someone else is smarter than me.

It should connect under the 7.3 Powerstroke like the trucks. I've read all the diesel codes and performed the normal tests on my daughters 2000 Ex.

It connected on the Powerstroke 7.3 option,only the generic powertrain,shouldn't I be able to connect using the enhanced powertain option and read/graph live data?

Yes, it should be enhanced and all the live data and tests should be available. I can read everything on her Ex that I can on my F350.

Its called a security dongle,it looks like a little flash drive that plugs in to one of the usb ports,I guess it is a part of the enhanced bundle.

Its probably the new wireless version. Those of us with the older version plug on w a USB cable

No its not wireless,it connects with the standard usb cable,but the little flash drive also has to be plugged in to a different usb port..a measure of security..
