and asking someone in sales is not going to give
a good clear answer. You don't get all the facts from
a webpage.
If fact it I went the way I really wanted to go I would get a set
wet cell Nicad. But then I would have to rework the charging
system and I really don't want to have to do that.

I would personally stay away from a Marine or deep cycle battery for a diesel engine... UNLESS you are wanting to operate a bunch of accessories with the engine OFF. Like a stereo, lights, winch etc.
Even then I would question how well a deep cycle would crank over a cold diesel engine @ 0 degrees versus a regular starting battery, hybrid or not.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
battery to start off with. I will still give then a call this week.
Then I'll post what I find out and any data I get.

most important though: the biggest/highest CCA!!!!! I don't care if it's a rinky dinky 1.8 4 banger, I still strive to get a minimum 800 CCA battery if it'll fit. Bigger is always better IMO for batteries. Especially a high compression PSD
What AGM batteries like is LOTS of amperage as they have very high interal charge rates, they also have the ability to push huge amperage as well.
AGM batteries are used in aircraft and in other very demanding situations such as dc to AC inverting that pulls huge amperage for sustained periods of time, or in long term floats where the batteries are charged constantly for a period of years.
With that being said, I still would stick with something like Costco / interstates due to the price point and warranty.
But if you have a spare 800.00 for batteries I say go for it.

Just because Shasta and Coke are bottled on the exact same line doesn't mean they're the exact same product and quality.
DB880-65
CCA 880
CA 1040 ( have no idea what this means )
RC 150 (reserve capacity )
They were $97.99 each out the door with one year free replacement. Has anyone ever tried these in a PU. I use them in my big trucks with no issue and they seem to last. Think the last one I replaced was 6 or 7 years ago
