That paint job is scary! It looks like it was painted in the dark. They painted over the wiper switch and those front fenders are wavyer than Kathy Lee in the Thanksgiving day parade.
I wonder how much bondo comes with it. Interesting that he tells us that it has a blue paint job. I would be much more interested in how much rust it had under the blue paint job.
20 footer? . It would make a good prodject, If I could, Id love to do a totaly stock frame off restore, other than the paint it looks pretty virgin. I agree it probably has surprises under the paint.
tailgate chains a hanging loose? So much for the new blue paint job. If it drives well and engine has good compression in all cylinders, would you folks consider it a fair price? Or what can you expect for 6500?
"Average NADA value for a "20-footer" is over 15k" -- well damn, I'm selling mine tomorrow!
It has Magic Aire heater, it appears, both correct bumpers, and usual rust. Engine and drivetrain seem pretty good, but the body needs all the usual. Still, I'd put it a little above $3k, maybe even $4k. $6500 is a stretch.
My gosh. That truck is really rough for that price (but a very beautiful farm). Watch the video. I'm pretty sure it has a big truck fender on the right. But hard to tell completely because both of the fenders have a ton of mud in them. Look at the closeup of the paint on the hood when he closes it. No fan shroud either. I bought one that was similar, but, believe it or not, in much better shape than that. It's laying in a hundred pieces in my shop now.
"Runs and drives just like it did in 1951, should be getting some new tires within the week and it will be in shape to DRIVE IT HOME." --- I wonder what Garry will say when he reads that after his adventure the last 3 days.
Edit: Either that right fender is a big truck fender or they cut away the front section of the fender well. And it almost looks like they re-created the seam (possibly with the bondo)?
Steering wheel isn't original. Neither is the air cleaner and the wheels. Looks like they parked it inside a barn and exploded a blue colored bomb. I like how he refers to the rust in the left fender as dents.
This truck amazing similar to the 52 that I bought. Color is the same and the plywood bed. Looking closely at what you can see of the floor board it looks as if you can see carrige bolt heads in the passenger floor boards like they are bolted in. Maybe it is just a giltch in the photo but is looks like actual holes in the driver's side fender. Anyway even though mine was a 215 Inline I paid 2,500 so Ross is right on the 3,000 dollar offer with the flathead. That shade of blue hides alot of horror. I will bet it also has 6 layers of red oxide primer under that blue also.
