Tuners

Ok Powerstrokers.......I bought an SCT 3015 for my 6.0L and it runs a million times better! My question is, how are you guys running yours? I use mine in performance mode with a couple engine adjustments. Which is better on MPG's? Performance or Street?

Also, who would i get some custom tunes from? Im not too sure about them i just want to learn some more about them. So.......educate me please.

those are the old Spartan tunes that were released when they quit tuning the 6.0 and shifted focus to the 6.4. They are neutered versions....unless somehow these are the "Pre-Neutered" files.

You'd be better of spending $50-100 for a custom tune. I prefer the SRL by Gearheads. Vivian has a good one...and I'm seriously considering the Super Panty Dropper.

Several choices. If you like the SCT Canned tunes...well lets just just say you'll fall head over heels for a custom one. I can't stand my truck with stock tuning

edit: be careful with those tunes. They were written for early trucks. The "VXCF9" strategy for 06/07 trucks (and earlier models that were reflashed by Ford) WILL NOT WORK and can brick your PCM if you use them. Just a FYI. Only the 03/04 and some 05 guys can use these. Make sure you are extremely careful selecting a strategy

I have the SCT and used just the street tune and holy cow it really woke that 6.0 up, but my truck is bone stock with the exception of a 4" banks exhaust and the edge CTS and with all of the talk of blown head gaskets and transmission problems i decided on using the 50 HP tow tune with the stiffer shift and i am happy with it. I cant imagine how it would run with the performance tune in there as the street tune scared me enough to back it down lol.

I use these tunes on my 05 truck an they work fine. Idk if/how they work on others trucks. All I can say is. Use at ur own risk. My truck has the VXCF4 strategy.
