im putting this here cause it seems more specific for my truck, anyway, i bairly got home today when my clutch pedal stuck to the floor, i was able to start it in gear and shift without the pedal, but i have to tow somthing thursday to get some extra money and now i cant drive the truck. i checked the bushing and clip that fails but there still mint, fluid looks good, and theres no leaks on the line... truck just hit 70k... did i really just bend/break my clutch fork? if i did, i gotta fix this thing in the street asap... man, i need this like another hole in my head
forgot to mention, i heard/felt somthing that sounded metalic possibly bounce off the bottom of my truck, but when i crawed under it with my light i didnt see any scratches, dents, or fresh marks... (theres alot of fresh black paint too so its easy to see fresh dents)
with chip, intake, exhaust, and some fuel mods... maybe it's time to do a clutch too? *****...
Hydraulic failure. Either your slave or master has blown an internal seal.
The good news is your dealer carries the clutch hydraulic assembly. Reservoir, slave and master cylinder assembled. It comes serviced and pre-bled so its an easy fix, but it's a little pricey.
The spring at the top of the pedal is not a return spring. Mine has been in the toolbox for about 9 years.

I was wondering... The spring is still there, yes. But, when I push the pedal with my head under the dash I can hear fluid being forced threw a small opening. I didn't see any leaks tho, but if I can get out of pulling a big *** trans before Thursday ill do it! Besides, if I pull that thing I'm putting in a nice clutch, and that's way more then the slave setup.
well, i pop'd out the slave cylinder today and peaked in at the fork, fork looks good and just like you said, sounds like theres a bad seal inside. i'll pay a visit to the parts department tomorrow
The whole assembly runs around $150, so it's not that bad. Takes about an hour to install. No need to pull the tranny.
just got one from Ford with my discount, cost just under 200 instead of the 240 somthing it listed for. i'll let you guys know how it goes, going out to install it in a few
Yesterday my clutch flew apart I guess. Petal returns up and feels tight but it doesnt do anything truck will start in gear and lurch forward. I had to have it towed 40 miles home
Not to mention I almost rear ended someone before I realized something was wrong and it wouldn't engage...
I have a similar issue, I just got back from out of state, my roommates had to move the truck, and now my clutch isnt working correctly. Cluck pedal sticks to the floor, i can pop it back out and use it almost normally, the grab point is further than it was before and it will randomly stick back down requiring me to pull it back out.
I wish i could get a straight answer as to what caused this to start happening from the roommate so i could troubleshoot a bit more effectively.... If anyone's got any ideas as to what could be causing this i would really appreciate it.
happened to me last week. Pushed in pedal, get'n on it for the onramp and BAM, went/stuck to floor. Coasted to side, went out of truck and slave cylinder dangling under the truck. Guess i didnt install it right. Bought JUST the slave, and triedto bleed it. whatta pita, still didnt work right, so i installed the original one in.
Just buy the complete bled assy and forgetaboutit.
