So was looking at something under good then smelled fuel. Looked over and seen fuel dripping from fuel filter housing. Isn't have tools to mess around at it so have to wait till tomorrow Ben get to work. But is this a common leak area? Looked like line goin into house but not sure. Anyone else have this issue before.
Blue spring comes with O rings for fuel line to regulator housing. Doubt that's where your leak is. There so tight some guys can't get them off some guys twist the line. Your talking about the line on driver's side pointing toward rear of truck? I understood that to be a fuel return line to tank? Could be wrong. But a pressurized leak would be spraying? Some one tell me if I'm right or wrong. And be nice
The rubber gasket (I was going to call it an "o-ring" but it isn't really a circle...lol) on the blue spring housing flattened out on mine and caused a leak. If yours is leaking in the same area then now is a good time to put the blue spring in. If you are lucky enough to have an International Dealer near you that will sell you the part I think you can pick up the blue spring kit for around $40. Mine wouldn't sell me the kit when he found out it was going in a Ford so I had to get one from the dealer for around $80 or so.
that "key hole" gasket behind the side plate on the filter housing is a good place to check, as they will leak. If you find it to be that gasket, it would be the time to make sure you have the blue spring installed, as it will potentially save your injectors from fuel starvation.
It's leaking on the right side of housing. I'd post pics but I use the mobile site from phone. I do have an international dealership here in KC. Anyone have part number and is there anything else I'll need to do repair?
I've had the fuel smell in the cab for two months and found the fuel drip off housing today.
The Tech folder thread is wonderful.
I'm going to do this when I replace the EGR & Oil cooler later this month.
