True dual straight pipes. Help please!

About a week ago me and a few friends straight piped my truck. I now have 2 inch pipe running true dual out the back. No cats or mufflers. It sounds pretty good but every bit of my tourque is gone. Any ideas on how to regain some much needed back pressure?

The "needs back pressure" thing is a myth. You have something else going on with your truck.

It was a powerhouse before we did it though. I'd say I'll probably throw some glass packs on it and just drive it.

Glasspacks won't help.

My advice would be to buy or build a y-pipe and then use one of the 2 inch pipes just as a single exhaust, that's probably the easiest way to get your torque back. But try the glass-packs first, sometimes a more restrictive muffler can help torque, sometimes not. What mufflers are on it now?

The problem is you now have an exhaust system that's too big for the engine, it would be better suited for a mid sized v-8 like a 351.

The idea is to have a free-flowing exhaust without the loss of "scavenging". Back pressure does not = scavenging. A 2 1/2" single out (like the Walker Y pipe) works quite well.

So, did you eliminate the O2 sensors also?
On some engines (not for sure on a 300) the egr has input from the back pressure. Just a thought, probably doesn't apply.
