It pains me to think about doing this... but financial circumstances are forcing me to sell my beloved X. What's it worth? How much should I ask?? (No smart alec comments, please. This is difficult enough).
2000 Ford Excursion Ltd 2WD, V10, 4.30, Hellwig, P3 brake controller, Roadmaster Active Suspension, Rear Backup Camera, 61k miles, newer Michelin LTX tires, rotors, brakes (all corners), new shocks (all corners), new front ball joints, Mobil 1 oil changes since new, fluids changed last year (trans, brakes, coolant, steering), 5-disc CD changer with indash CD/AM/FM/cassette, leather, power everything. You know the rest. Royal Blue CCM, beige leather interior.
It was even rust-proofed, first-thing, when it was new and it has a leading-edge plastic air dam to protect against paint chipping on the hood.
I live near Chicago. Shoot me a PM with your suggestions.

Reason: Clarify
I paid 7,500.00 for my 2000 ex, limited 4x4 7.3. With 270,000 on it. The excursion Is a tough sell right now especially with the price of gas. You really need to find someone lookin for that specific vehicle type. The kbb price for just the truck is 9,995.00. Based upon all the mods since its setup for towing. Not to be insulting id say between 9,000-12,000 to the right buyer who is looking for that specific type of truck. Especially around here the salt eats up everything fast. The only downfall I can see is that it's 2wd.
Thanks. I agree with your price range -- but I clearly think if someone were looking for this type of set-up, I could probably get a couple thousand more. Wishful thinking? I dunno.
The only problem is near us the market is flooded with V10 4x4 excursions. Most people don't appreciate all the work that was put into it. The mentality is that they can go buy one for half that but in turn spend 2x the money on neglected repairs. I think most of the cheap excursions are for sale cheap probably because of the wonderful 4.00 + a gallon. My aunt had a 2002 ex ltd 4x4 5.4l with 92,000 miles on it they got 6,500.00 on trade in. If you want to sell it fast you can probably get 7,000.00. But if you can wait it out I would see if you can get in the 9's at least! I think these trucks are worth it. When someone comes along that knows what all that is worth and Is in the market for a solid tow vehicle I would say the price can go up some
It takes a buyer that doesn't mind paying a little more for gas. Some people freak out when you mention the MPG but airplanes take a lot of gas too. I don't have the money I used to have but they are still worth it to me. If you bought an Explorer etc you are still going to pay a lot for gas.

Well it seats 8... you can take 2 four seater cars somewhere that get 22mpg... or 1 Ex and get 11mpg... same thing
