ok so i cant figure this out, A friend of mine has a 06 f250 v10 and he was pulling it into are shop to get detailed and it just died so i parked it. I went back today to drive it and see if it was still stalling and sure enough it did, I drove a block or two and on my way back i slowed down to drive through the gate and it just stalled. I started it back up just fine then turned right and it stalled again. I cleaned the throttle body and the mass air flow sensor thinking that would help and sure enough.... it didn't, i put it in reverse to back it out of the shop and it stalled again.
I dunno if this is part of the problem too but when you rev it and let off the peddle it will drop to 200-250 rpms then it takes about 3-4 seconds of the peddle to the floor to get it to 1000 rpm and then when you let off again it will stall again
If anyone has an idea on how to fix this please let me know....
Yup, replace the $100.00 Idle Air Control Valve and all will be well again.
Probably not since his truck doesn't have an IAC valve. The 3V engines use the electronic throttle body to control idle, and therefore there is no need for an IAC.
Replacing parts without any kind of diagnosis is a really bad idea...the only thing for certain is a lighter wallet. There are a LOT of things that can cause this, and this truck needs to be scanned with a good scan tool to see if the computer sees a problem. Is the check engine light on?
